Dr. Julie Matthews
Dr. Julie Matthews
Dr. Matthews opened Village Veterinary in 1996. She is a 1989 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After obtaining her veterinary degree, Dr. Matthews was awarded a fellowship to Harvard University, where she studied retroviruses at the School of Public Health for one year. Since then, she has devoted her energy to private practice, with special interests in internal medicine and alternative therapies.
 
 Dr. Matthews is a certified veterinary acupuncturist, having successfully completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society's certification course in 1995.  Dr. Matthews is also trained in VOM (veterinary orthopedic manipulation), a specialized form of chiropractic treatment for animals.  Other alternative therapies utilized by Dr. Matthews include Chinese herbs, homotoxicology, and Bach flower remedies.  

Dr. Matthews enjoys spending free time with husband Neal and sons Jesse and Tyson, boating, mountain biking, and skiing.
 

Lynn Beauchesne, LVTLynn Beauchesne, LVT
Lynn is a licensed veterinary technician who has been with Village Veterinary since 1998. Originally from New York State, Lynn attended Medaille College there and obtained her veterinary technician license in 1992. Lynn and husband Rich (who did our web photos!) live in Rollinsford, New Hampshire with their two cats Calvin and Isabel. 
  
 
 
 
 
 
Jill Wheeler, LVTJill Wheeler, LVT, Office Manager
Jill is a licensed veterinary technician who has been with Village Veterinary since September 2001. Originally from Connecticut, Jill has been living in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area for over 10 years. Jill attended the New Hampshire Community Technical College Veterinary Technician program in Stratham, New Hampshire, obtaining her degree in 2002. In addition to her technical duties, Jill is in charge of inventory at Village Veterinary, ensuring medications and foods are always available when needed.

 
Christie Snow, LVTChristie Snow, LVT
Christie is a licensed veterinary technician who has been with Village Veterinary since October 2004. Christie grew up in Blue Hill, Maine, and attended Union College in Schenectady, New York, where she graduated with a BS in Biology and a minor in Classical Civilization. She then attended Michigan State University's Veterinary Technology program, graduating in 2003. After graduation, Christie was employed at a small animal hospital in Gardiner, Maine. Christie lives in Sanford, Maine with Heather, Angie, and her dog Zoey. She enjoys reading, movies, the ocean, and spending time with Zoey.
 

Angie Stiphen, Receptionist/Veterinary AssistantAngie Stiphen, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Angie is our receptionist/veterinary assistant and has been with Village Veterinary since November 2004. Angie grew up in Pittston, Maine and attended the University of New England, where she obtained a BS in Marine Biology in 2003. Before coming to Village Veterinary, Angie worked for 1 year at a small animal hospital in Gardiner, Maine. Angie lives in Sanford, Maine with Heather and Christie. In her spare time Angie enjoys reading, crafts, and spending time with her family.
 
 
Janelle Silvia, Veterinary Technician
Janelle recently moved back to Maine from Massachusetts, where she had been employed as a veterinary technician for the past 6 years. Janelle's 2 dogs, Tucker and Daphne, and her cat Sophie accompanied her back to Maine. In her spare time, Janelle loves to hike, read, stargaze, and spend time with friends and family.
 

 
 
 
Janis Cloutier
Janis Cloutier, Veterinary Assistant
Janis joined Village Veterinary in May 2008, with prior experience at York Animal Hospital, Methuen SPCA, and Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.  Janis has an Associates Degree in Canine Science.  Janis has lived for the past 16 years in York with her sons Daniel and Germain.  In her spare time, Janis likes to relax with her family, pets, and friends.

 
 
 
Jessica Osenton
Jessica Osenton, Veterinary Technician
Jessie graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2006 with a BS in Animal Science and Preveterinary Medicine.  Jessie currently lives in Kittery with her dog Rocko, her cats Beans and Marty, and her boyfriend Farren.  In her free time she enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors, and listening to country music.
